(Long post ahead!) One of our most exciting projects this year is Singing & Arranging the @kazosingapore SG60 "Shining Bright" Theme Song 🇸🇬 (head over to their page to see the full video!) We were soooo overjoyed when we got the news and proceeded to spend the next month working on it, adding layer by layer and revising it version by ver. Tackled alot of self-doubt (trying to beat AI) and tested our time management. Every moment out of gigs, we were discussing on what we should add/adjust. After 交工课，we felt a bit empty and lost haha. Grateful for this learning experience and hope to improve further bit by bit. Sharing with you some snippets of the song, which are mostly in the 2nd half. 1st Vid🎙 All the layers finally coming together. The choral singing at the 3rd chorus and the "guy voice" is me being a guy lol. 2nd Vid 🍰 Love the words and meaning of the 2nd Verse, which I feel embodies the Kazo Spirit. We met the Team on the filming day and really felt the energetic & passionate vibes of everyone. I finally understood why the order of the words, Polo, Puff, Kazus were so impt here. Their signature was actually the 菠萝 buns before the puffs!!!!! 3rd Pic 💻Musically, Michael slowly added different components to build up the song to the last chorus while aiming to retain the Kazo cheerful feeling. On my side, we tested various adlips like "Let's Go" etc, megaphone effects and had to decided on exactly how many personalities/tones we wanted to record. These were the number of the revisions we had. The no. of stems were much more! After chatting with @yamsimyl, I realised what Kazo means to them. Really admire their entrepreneurial sprit (not everyone can do it with such determination) and the management team that just felt so tight-knitted. It took time and effort to be so stable. 🚄Best way to get from Hong Kong to Guangzhou~ All you need to take the 🇨🇳High Speed Rail like a Pro! I took a solo HSR ride from 🇭🇰Hong Kong to 🇨🇳Guangzhou and this was the part of the trip I had to do the most research on because I was so worried about it! Wrote down everything you need to know in case you are planning to take the HSR in China too~ This is my experience: Buy the tickets from Klook and select the timing & station you want to get to! (the HK station is West Kowloon, while for GZ, you get to choose from a few. I chose Guangzhou East as I can take to local train from there to Tian He, where I am staying. ) On the day itself, your passport is your ticket. Head to HK West Kowloon Station 1 hr 15mins to 1 hr 30mins before your departure time. If you follow the HSR signs, you will automatically be at level B1. From there, if you're unsure, you can ask the staff. However, you just need to head to the Security Clearance first (go to the manned manual lane on the left). After Security Clearance, take the lift to B3 for Custom Clearance. You will clear the HK Customs first before heading on to the China Mainland one. At the Mainland customs, head to the right for the manned Foreigner Lanes (many people miss this and go to the left lanes for Chinese Nationals.) You will also need to fill in an immigration form at the booths in front of the Foreigner Lanes. This step will take a bit longer if it is your first time into China as they need to register your fingerprints. After completing both Custom Clearances, check the departure platform/gate for your ride on the board. Nearing your Train Departure time, they will allow you to start boarding. Check the Car & Seat No. on your Klook Ticket and head to the right seat. There will be a staff to assist if you need help too! Luggage can be stored at the racks before reaching your seats or overhead. Seats were comfortable and the ride was a breeze. They sell food/drinks by pushcart. To be honest, the drinks looked quite good! Get off when they announce your stop! Mine took 1hr40mins but there are GZ stops that are nearer too :) Have a smooth trip! #guangzhou #chinatrip #highspeedsrail #chinahsr
